Constance Moore is an interdisciplinary artist and educator based in Oakland, CA. She shares her young students’ love of color and hopes to transmit their spirit and freshness into her work. Borrowing a color palette from the elementary art room where she teaches, her work is bright and playful. Constance loves working with tempera paint, crayons, fabric scraps and felt, materials commonly found in schools. Whether figurative or abstract, at its core, Constance's art is narrative, rooted in the power and meaning of storytelling. She is the illustrator of The Colors of My World series written by Nancy Johnson James. Constance’s debut author/illustrated picture book biography, A Language of Stitches:The Radical Quilts of Rosie Lee Tompkins, will be published in July 2026.
