About me
Malik Seneferu was born on April 7, 1971 in San Francisco. This Bay Area native embodies a wide range of creative expression: he is an award-winning self-taught painter, draughtsman, muralist, sculptor, illustrator and instructor. His work exhibits bright, colorful patterns, people of the African-American community, and resonating cultural expressions of African descent. Also a musician, poet, and cultural facilitator, Malik beautifully portrays aspects of his life and encourages us to value the sources of inspiration for his works. His reverence for the social climate of African communities has also aff orded him the opportunity to showcase his work in London; Durban, South Africa for the “War against Racism” in 2001; as well as Italy, Haiti, and Kenya. With over 50 solo art exhibits in the Bay Area, Malik’s paintings are an integral and ubiquitous part of the Bay Area arts community.
